HiddenCosts was designed so that analyzing your bank statements does not require trusting us with them.
01Local processing
In this release, PDF and CSV statements are parsed entirely in your browser. The analysis — merchant matching, recurrence detection, savings simulation — runs on your device. Your statements and transactions are not sent to our servers.
02Data minimization
Before analysis, identifiers such as IBANs, BICs, card numbers, account numbers and personal references are stripped from transaction descriptions. Only normalized transaction data (date, merchant, amount) is kept for the session.
03Retention & deletion
Anonymous analyses live in your browser session only and expire when you close the tab. The “Delete my data” action removes everything immediately. Original files are never stored.
04No training, no ads
Your financial data is never used to train models and never shared with advertisers or data brokers.
